Privacy and security for Ohio county boards of developmental disabilities.
County boards hold some of the most sensitive records in local government. Eagle helps superintendents and their teams protect individuals’ information, meet HIPAA, FERPA, IDEA and Ohio Revised Code and Ohio Administrative Code confidentiality requirements, and stay ready for ransomware.
Protect the people you serve.
County boards serve individuals and families whose health, service and financial information must stay confidential. A ransomware attack or misdirected record can harm the people you serve and the board’s standing in the community.
Eagle has worked with Ohio county boards for many years and wrote policy templates specifically for them. Through our Privacy and Security Compliance as a Service program, boards get an ongoing privacy and security officer function: assessments, policy updates, training, and help when an incident happens.
Ohio House Bill 96 now requires Ohio political subdivisions to adopt a NIST- or CIS-aligned cybersecurity program, report incidents to Ohio Homeland Security within 7 days and to the Auditor of State within 30 days, and get formal approval before paying any ransom. The law doesn’t name county DD boards specifically, so confirm with your counsel whether it applies to your board. Either way, its requirements are a sound baseline, and Eagle builds programs that meet them.
